Going lightweight is essential for things like trail running, hiking, cross country skiing and really any outdoor adventure where you need to move quickly. However going lightweight in waterproof fabrics has its trade-offs. Generally durability suffers as well as breathability and "comfort". That's because the slightly heavier fabrics can be full 3 layer with the third layer being the absorbent mesh inner that wicks sweat away from you and quickens the process in pushing it outside. Well don't make those trade-offs anymore!
